(Irondale, AL – May 31, 2012) Corporate America Credit Union and its member credit unions raised $2,500 for CU4Kids / Children’s Miracle Network by participating in a pedometer challenge.
Attendees were asked to ‘step it up’ for the Children’s Miracle Network at Corporate America’s recent Annual Meeting celebrating 30 years of serving credit unions. "We wanted to encourage participation in a healthy activity and raise money for a wonderful program" stated Joy Breedlove, Education Consultant with Corporate America Credit Union. Over a three day period, attendees walked the conference floors and along the beautiful shores of Destin, Florida. Don Carden, CEO of Coosa Pines Federal Credit Union, logged the most steps and won a three-day stay at the Hilton Sandestin Resort.
Joe Dearborn, Senior Director, Credit Union for Kids thanked Corporate America Credit Union and believes that the pedometer challenge "is a unique fundraising idea that might be of interest to others in the credit union community." CU4Kids is a nonprofit collaboration of credit unions, chapters, leagues/associations, and business partners from across the country, engaged in fundraising activities to benefit 170 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
