Corporate America’s 32nd Annual Meeting and Conference was a great success with lots of networking, education and familiar faces. The theme of this year’s meeting - “Your Future, Our Priority” - was especially significant in today’s economic environment. CACU is dedicated to assisting its members with all financial needs to make their future brighter.
Held on the beautiful beaches of Sandestin, Florida, this year’s meeting boasted gorgeous weather and great opportunities for learning. Participants gained valuable information on leadership, compliance, ALM, investments and business services.
Katie Nelson, CEO of Mississippi Postal CU, says she thoroughly enjoyed the meeting. “The speakers were great and I picked up valuable information. The networking opportunities provided a great way to get to know the staff better and put names with faces,” Nelson said.
Joe Riley, Manager of Federal Employees Credit Union in Birmingham, AL, said he was reminded why credit unions stand apart from other financial institutions. “That is the basic concept we have all bought into: people helping people,” Riley said. “That’s what we do, and we strive to improve on this concept each and every day. The meeting really centered around that concept.”
Corporate America President/CEO Pete Pritts gave a financial report to close out the conference. Pritts says he and the entire staff are proud of the tremendous progress made in 2013 and look forward to a successful 2014. Pritts also emphasized during his report that an “evolving and always strong value proposition” is a focus of the Board and Management. One component of the Annual Meeting, and a highlight according to Pritts, was the inaugural meeting of the Corporate America’s User’s Council. Comprised of 10 members from Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, Texas, Georgia, and Virginia, the council was formed to open communication channels with member credit unions at an improved level. “The Council’s message from the conference was to share the story of positive progress at CACU,” Pritts said.
A golf tournament, dolphin cruise and poolside reception gave guests the chance to enjoy fun activities and great company while on the Emerald Coast. Planning for the 2015 Annual Meeting has already started!
